Tampa General Hospital Completes 50 Sedation-Free Transnasal Endoscopy Procedures

This month, the team at Muma Children's Hospital at Tampa General Hospital reached an important milestone by completing its 50th sedation-free transnasal endoscopy (TNE) using the EvoEndo Single-Use Endoscopy System.

For children living with conditions such as eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), regular endoscopic monitoring is often an essential part of long-term care. Traditionally, these procedures have required general anesthesia, adding time, cost, and stress for patients and their families. Sedation-free transnasal endoscopy offers a different approach by allowing many patients to remain awake while still enabling physicians to visualize the esophagus and obtain biopsies when clinically appropriate.
